As Gen Z enters the workforce en masse, they bring a whole host of new skills and workplace preferences.
Businesses can expect to see new technology, systems, and ways of working suggested by their younger employees over the next few years.
Over the past 12 months, nearly half of businesses and a quarter of charities reported cybersecurity breaches or attacks, according to Gov.uk. As the future looks increasingly more digital-focused, the younger generation will need to bring a cyber-savvy mindset to the workplace as well as their love for new technology.
Closing the Skills Gap
The cyber security skills gap is still seen as a national vulnerability from the ‘Protection of Critical National Infrastructure’, to ‘Securing SME businesses‘.
Schools, colleges and universities with the support of the government as well as businesses need to increase the accessibility to learning through courses and apprenticeships.

NexusProtect through its relationships with schools looks to promote partnerships with organisations such as the Police, the National Cyber Security Centre and those who deliver cyber security training to provide a greater insight into a career in cyber security.
And this is just one of the ways Nick is working with schools to support pupils’ future. The recent introduction of lateral flow testing for schools increased the pressure on already-overwhelmed staff and students.
By partnering with SSGC, Nick and the NexusProtect team have been able to provide support personnel for struggling schools and help them manage mass testing with over 30 schools and colleges having signed up to the service.
